Farming platforms, built on retaining walls filled with fertile soil and watering by complex irrigation systems, allowing to grow plant species. These platforms were used as Inca agricultural laboratory to experiment with their crops. Moray encloses history and landscape beauty.
Salineras Maras - Moray is an interesting tour, we will visit Maras salt mines and then, we will continue our journey through the town of Maras to finally visit the impressive archaeological place of Moray, which was an experimental Inca agricultural center.
We start with the pick-up from your hotel at 8.30 am. To begin our journey, having as first point, visit the town of Maras, and thus be able to appreciate within the town its colonial houses emblazoned with coats of arms on their stone lintels that show the great importance that it had at that time.
Following our route we will arrive at the archaeological group of Moray, where we will appreciate its enormous concentric terraces that give life to a fabulous scenario and how the Incas developed an agricultural laboratory and acclimatization of the plants and experimentation of their Andean products, and then to transport different places.
After this visit comes to the salt mines or salt mines, which is a complex of salt exploitation, this activity is done by hand, milk is also extracted, prepared for the preparation of food and the exchange of products with others nearby inhabitants.
In this place you can see more than 2500 wells that until today the inhabitants of that area continue to work manually, and after the view, we will finish with the return to Cusco.
