There are many tourist circuits in Cusco, one of them is “Mirador del Condor”, located in the Apurímac River Canyon in Chonta Community, Limatambo district, 2 hours (70 kilometers) from the Imperial Cusco city by bus.
You can also observe the beautiful landscapes and the majestic Apurímac River in the canyon together with its flora and fauna.
Nowadays, this viewpoint is an excellent place to observe the condor flight, the andean condor is considered one of the largest birds which flies. In the Incas time, it was a sacred bird considered as the Andean spiritual messenger.
At the same time you will be able to see: eagles, hawks, kestrels and hummingbirds among other animal species. Also during the tour you will visit some small and beautiful archaeological remains such as Killarumiyoq and Tarawasi.
Cusco - Quillarumiyoc - Tarawasi - Chonta - Condor Canyon
We will start our tour early, we will pick you up from your hotel in a private mobility, to go to the Mirador.
In the tour we will have excellent panoramic views. Valleys full of crops formed by steep mountains some covered with snow and also visit some archaeological complexes such as Killarumiyoc, Tarawasi, Limatambo where we will have our delicious lunch.
Later we will travel to the Chonta community, from where we will start walking for 1 hour and a half to the Mirador del Condor.
From midday the condors begin to return from their daily activities, for which we will be ready to witness the majestic flight of the condors.
Finally we will return to the city of Cusco, arriving approximately at night.
